A few hours ago, I got out of a meeting discussing the merits of WebWork 1.3 vs. Struts. I'm officially really discouraged about it (sorry, Bob) because of a comment someone made: Struts tools support is there, it's sort of usable (his example didn't actually work), and it has pretty icons.
This is true. I'm not making this up.
And you know why? Because Struts is so needlessly convoluted that your average developer *needs* those tools to sort it out... That, to me, is a fundamental weakness of Struts, the exact opposite of a selling point.
Some time ago I was evaluating Struts, and I was amazed at the amount of code I had to write just to use its basic functionalities. At that time, I concluded that the basic difference between Struts and WebWork is that WebWork supported me, while *I* had to support Struts in my code to use it.
