Good day,

Here's a case that I doubt anyone has seen yet, but I might just as well
give it a try.
I will add more information as I'll be able to gather it.

The setup is as follows:

We have a Windows 7 client running both an OpenVPN client and another
Application. That other application connects to a MS SQLServer instance
via the VPN tunnel.

The VPN client connects to a class A network using 10.0.1.1 as a gateway
and is assigned the IP address 10.0.1.54 itself. The VPN tunnel does not
override any default gateway or the like.

The client itself, as well as any other devices on the local network are
in a (somewhat weird) subnet of 192.60.28.0/24, so there shouldn't be
any conflict here.

Now, the issue we're seeing is the following:
Whenever a user is trying to print from the Application while being
connected to the VPN tunnel, all of their network printers are being
deleted from their Windows installation. In order to be able to use them
again, those printers need to be installed anew.

Their IT dept has apparently determined that there's some sort of a
conflict between OpenVPN and the Konica Minolta driver when it is
spooling, but they have not told us what hinted them to that.

Unfortunately that's all he information I have right now. I've asked for
logs (Windows event, openvpn), the printer's exact model as well as the
driver's type and version number but have yet to receive a reply.

I would gladly also attempt to contact KM support, but I would even know
less what to tell them.
I would presume the issue to be rather on the driver level than on any
network layer, but until here, I can only so much as guess.

But maybe I'm lucky and anyone has already seen a similar issue?

Best regards,
David
