Hello,

I'm having issues trying to get OpenXPKI 0.28 (or 1.2.0, for that
matter) to run on FreeBSD (tried in 3 different setups). In short, it
doesn't work at all. I'm OK with having to install the web UI
manually, but even the command line seems broken.

If I use openxpkictl --foreground start, and issue an (invalid)
openxpkicmd command, it first correctly responds with an error
message. But when I re-issue the command, the response is simply
I18N_OPENXPKI_TRANSPORT_SIMPLE_CLIENT_READ_CLOSED_CONNECTION. This
doesn't happen if I start the server without --foreground, though
there's still some inconsistency between the ..cmd runs. Is anyone
else seeing this? Has anyone actually set this software up on FreeBSD
or is it a lost cause?

Best regards,
