Hi Marianne,
Repot. Thank goodness you only have a few plants.
When you repot make sure to take the bare root plant outside and hose off the roots with a strong jet of water to dislodge any eggs or juveniles that my be hiding amongst the roots or under some bracts.
IMHO these do not respond to chemical baits. I know others say they do, but IMHO they do not.

Hello Everyone,
I just found colonies of bush snails in my new plants. 1/4 of my 44 orchids
seem to be infected, and I have no idea how to control these small pets. I
have been putting potato slices on the tops of the pots, but this only
catches a few snails.
My main concern is the fact that there might be eggs in the medium/on pots/ on the roots that I cannot see.
Does anyone know an effective means of killing these pests (without using heavy chemicals)?
I have on hand
1) systemic insecticide/fungicide meant for houseplants 2) any quantity of mouthwash, alcohol, etc.
I am also contemplating a complete repot for about 10-15 plants. But, it is
autumn, and many of the plants have finished growing or are in flower or
spike... and I would hate to have repotting aftereffects all winter long,
when no more root growth would be in sight until Spring. On the otherhand,
an infestation of snails in the pots would mean that my roots would die
anyway...
What should I do? What are my options? And are there any solutions for the
millions of eggs that might be hidden away?
Thank you for your help.
Marianne
