Proposed correction: "I don't think we should be looking to *the existing music 
industry* as an example of how content creators should be compensated".

I just read an article on Slashdot about Pandora and how the compensate fairly 
their artists. Of course, Pandora is under constant attack _by_ the music 
industry (RIAA etc) because it undermines its business model.

There are other ways to protect copyright and simultaneously to generate a fair 
income for direct stakeholders.
