Yes, it is right here (http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net).  We are currently the
3rd most active app in all of SourceForge, averaging >250 d/l / day and a
~99.8 percentile activity rate. (Full disclosure:  I'm the PM)

Also, MySQL is not 'free' (libre or gratis).  Reread the original licenses.
Hypersonic is (possibly, just guessing here) in Orion because the license is
BSD (they don't HAVE to give us or Thomas credit for the code, or provide
source, it's nice of them to mention us, but they don't HAVE to, unlike a
GPL or FSF license, which MySQL is not) and because it is Java.

MySQL as a part of Orion , in my opinion,would be a DISASTER, even with
Eclipse.  Remember, faster, tighter, BETTER.  MySQL doesn't cut it.
