        If you mean the RH7.2 stuff, I did NOT do any of it, bcse I wan't sure the
mdk8.2 rpm would also be problematic.

On the advice of counsel, I advised Teresa's group
to drop ganglia out of the mix for debugging purposes.
The way I asked them to do it was by eliminating the
oscar/packages/ganglia directory after downloading
oscar.

Marsha, when you used the rpm-4.0.3 version, did you
have to use the workaround listed in the oscar docs
(something
about forcing systemimager to install files by setting
a flag in a file somewhere)? In the docs it says
something
about if you use the workaround (for rpm-4.0.3)
systemimager may in fact fail, but you won't get any
indication of the failure -- is it possible that
Marsha's problems with pvm and mpi are because some
files failed to install, and systemimager didn't
report it (because of the workaround employed?)  Rich
