Hi all
Ihave been trying to load Oscar 3.0 on Redhat Linux 9 on Sunfire machine
but everything one or the other error creeps out.
Let me brief in detail what i did.
When the client boots from the network for installation .
It is unable to detect SCSI drive .
and the installation halted with # prompt.
I could find the aic79xx.o module in /lib/modules/boel-2.4.20 directoory
so idid insmod aic79xx.o and it detected the scsi disk but
it installation failed saying cannot find partititon table at and path
starting with /dev/scsi...
So now i was recommended to compile new kernel which has inbulit scsi
support so i compiled new kernel linux-2.2.24 .
and copied to /tftpboot directory as kernel24 and edited the the
/tftpboot/pxeclinux.cfg/default file to point to appropriate kernel24.
Note : I did change the initrd image .
Installation went on smoothy ..
But again I got a error saying
RAMDISK:compressed image found at block 0
Freeing initrd memory : 488k freed
VFS:mounted root (cramfs filiesystem)
Freeing unused kernel memory :164k freed
Warning :unable to open an initial console
and now I am stuck here
Please help mee out
