If you have an internet connection to the outside world, you should be able to access OPD.
What happens if you run this: /opt/oscar/scripts/opd (this is the CLI version of OPD). Also, you might want to make sure that you have cleaned out any cached OPD XML files: rm -f /var/cache/oscar/opd/*.xml Cheers, Bernard > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 6:11 > To: Bernard Li; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Bruce Becker > Cc: Oscar-users List > Subject: RE: [Oscar-users] eth0 problem persists > > Hi > Sorry for the dealayed reply as I was out of town > > I just tried the OPD today but i am still enable to download > and install the additional packages like Ganglia. > > I am enable to figure out the problem > my gateway has firewall configured could it be the problem > due to which I am enable to download the packages. > > > Please mail me the solution > > Regards > > Sagar > > > > > > > > > Bernard Li <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> said: > > > Hi Sagar: > > > > I just tried accessing OPD and as of right now it is > working - please > > try again. > > > > Cheers, > > > > Bernard > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > Sent: Sunday, July 04, 2004 22:34 > > > To: Bernard Li; Bruce Becker; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > Cc: Oscar-users List > > > Subject: RE: [Oscar-users] eth0 problem persists > > > > > > Hi > > > I tried the solution given by Benoit to solve the OPD > problem but I > > > am still not able to download additional packages using OPD. > > > > > > When I click on step 0 > > > The window appears saying downloading Package Information But no > > > packages are listed in the table below. > > > > > > What could be the problem please let me know. > > > > > > regards > > > > > > sagar > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Bernard Li <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> said: > > > > > > > Here's a fix for the OPD problem from Benoit: > > > > > > > > To remove the already downloaded XML file (as root) : > > > > rm -f /var/cache/oscar/opd/*.xml > > > > > > > > Or run ./opd -f > > > > > > > > Then re-run the OSCAR wizard and you will be able to > download the > > > > OSCAR > > > packages. > > > > > > > > Cheers, > > > > > > > > Bernard > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > > > > > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf > of Bruce > > > > Becker > > > > Sent: Fri 02/07/2004 3:37 AM > > > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > Cc: Oscar-users List > > > > Subject: Re: [Oscar-users] eth0 problem persists > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > > > > I am waiting for solution for the problem i am facing > > > regarding the > > > > > eth0 interface of 2 my clients . > > > > I haven't been following this problem, but I > experienced something > > > > similar to what you describe with OPD below. > > > > > > > > > Also I am facing problem regarding Ganglia. > > > > > As I have the mailing lists postings whinch said that I can > > > > > download and install ganglia using OPD. > > > > (you can also install ganglia from RPMS downloaded from the > > > > ganglia website. you need gmetad, gmond and the webfrontend : > > > > ganglia-monitor-core-gmetad-2.5.6-1 > > > > ganglia-webfrontend-2.5.5-1 > > > > ganglia-monitor-core-gmond-2.5.6-1 > > > > These work with RedHat 9 and OSCAR 3.0. you have to edit > > > > /etc/gmond.conf) > > > > > > > > > So I executed the step 0 which is download additional > packages. > > > > > A window apppears saying Downloading package information. > > > > > But nothing appears in the table below > > > > I had a timeout until i discovered that my proxy > > > information was not > > > > being set properly.
