I think this will be resolved soon, but no it has not been resolved yet.  Thank
you so much for your comments regarding the failed rsync connection. Yes I get
error 23 (partial transfer).  Thank you!

Now can you please take a careful look at the log I am including again (at the
end of this email below your comments) for step 7 of the OSCAR wizard.  Yes I
got the password wrong the first time, but the point is that even after
entering the correct user password it fails. There is "mkstemp" failed with
"Permission denied" and "rsync error" with error 23. I want to fix this. 

Or do we conclude that OSCAR installation under Mandrake Linux 9.0 is just
simply broken? And send a message to "Linux Journal" readers to use Redhat
Linux 9.0 until the problem is resolved?  How can I help?
