It is working fine now. I disabled the firewall on the headnode temporarily.
Now the nfs is mounting properly.

If not, I would start looking in the /var/log/messages for nfs related
messages on the head and client nodes.
Running a firewall with nfs is difficult, you should turn off any
firewalls on the system (and SE Linux) and see if that fixes the problem.
If nfs is not working, basically nothing will work quite right. Most of
the packages in OSCAR assume the /home directory is present on all the
nodes.
