Oscar requires all local interface traffic to be unrestricted.

This document describes how to set up a system with two interfaces so that
one network interface is firewalled and the other one is just an
internal/external network gateway.  It works quite nicely with OSCAR, at
least it is more or less what I am using.

I may try to fold this into an "OSCAR package" at some point, but I probably

temporarily. Now the nfs is mounting properly.
