in term whether you need to release your modification or not, it depends on the license of the original code .. if the license of the original code states that you must release your software to public, so you must do so .. but if the license says otherwise, you can closed it ... it all depends on the license of the original code .. and like i said in my previous mail , you does not own the copyright the original code, therefore you don't have the rights to change the license term of the original code ..
