Nevertheless u are making more deeper analogy into the subject. However my grunt against grants is not so per se but against the thinking or lack of it that has crept into it.
1) Grants are a privilege and not a right. Those deciding on grants make it as if they are doing us or the country a favour. They have to realise that it is our common tax given money. It is to be granted not appealed. 2) Stimulus packages of which the ICON grants are connected should be just that - stimulus for the economy and possess no economic substance or justification in itself. Just now i sat with someone from R&D part of MDec who told me they have run out of funds till 2011. So should we stop breathing till then? You call this economics?
