Hi guys and gals I have a small job regarding load balancing Joomla 1.x and doing some research on it. Honestly, I've given up System Administration job for long time ago and focusing on Agile Web Development ( Ruby On Rails & CakePHP )
so to cut the story short , is this the best route to take ? - running 2 redhats identical to each other LB( load balancing ) by 3rd box, PFSENSE - each redhat will mount /tmp ( php session ) in 4th box that also serve as backup/storage server - http://myclient.com opened by user and PFsense will LB those to but sessions are maintained in 4th box..so should be transparent - rsync will be done for both redhat box for images & application via cron job - database will be on 4th box ( single large mysql ) or redhat 1 actsAs Master redhat 1&2 actsAs Slave MySQL and Master in 4th box ? FYI joomla 1.x doesn't store user session in database , in /tmp And for some OSS awesomeness 1. http://protonmania.com is rewritten from ground up using CakePHP after serving almost 10 years using SMF Board, and this is drastic changes that will evolve slowly.
