*sigh*

This is turning into an "us vs. them" argument. I think people are missing my point, and I'm not sure how to say it any more clear. Let me try again

* Yes, it's cool that the Flash 8 stuff being discovered. The information has a right to be out there, and I think it's great that there's a page that exists to document everything we know so far.

* I very strongly think the page should NOT live on osflash.org, but rather a more general flash wiki.

The Flash 8 API is not open source and therefore does not belong on the "open source flash" website. As Peter said, the link between the latest MTASC build and the Flash 8 API is tenuous at best. Even Nicolas's comment that "it's not the new API for MTASC, it's the new API for Flash 8" demonstrates that the flash8 page has little to do with the open source flash concept. That doesn't meant the information doesn't belong anywhere, but it doesn't belong on a website dedicated to links to open source flash projects.

Two things can happen from this point:

* We create a new wiki for general purpose flash information - flashwiki.org that Sonke has sounds great.

* We let osflash be merged with what used to be the FlashCoders wiki.

If Flash8 is allowed to stay on the osflash.org wiki, then the second option will occur because it is a natural progression. I would rather see osflash focus on open source flash projects (that's the reason it was started). I'd love to see FlashWiki.org turn into a resurrected FlashCoders wiki. In fact, I think the Flash8 page should be one of the first pages on the FlashWiki.org site.
