also, there is Xara LX: <http://www.xaraxtreme.org/faqs.html> basically, what they're doing is they port their windows drawing app to linux and mac as open source. the windows version will stay closed and commercial, and commercial licenses will be available for linux/mac for people who want the third-party code included. the port isn't finished yet, but the current build is looking pretty good already.
