Hi, I have not interacted with OSFlash a great deal beyond passive use so far as I feel I don't have much to contribute yet, one day hopefully. But, we all need variety, which is why I agree with Aral's point about independence. It's important not to just jump in with shiny new systems and ideas just because they pursue the same ideals as our own. Big and shiny does not always mean the best you have to use something to find out if it's any good and if you are lucky enough for it to be OS you can often have a stab at fixing it too. My point is that a bit of variety and struggle is important and fuels the community spirit - which is why OSFlash and RIAForge can hopefully exist in harmony and those that need to know will eventually find their way into these communities. There are lots of communities out there doing good stuff often similar, occasionally we need to get together to shout a bit louder, but we can all function perfectly well on our own too without any detriment. Maybe OSFlash can look at RIAForge and go, hmm that's good, but how can we improve on this - and we can have a go because it's ours. RIAForge can improve too because it belongs to a community, hopefully we will all be able to improve and learn either by just keeping an eye on the list, getting up to your neck in code or somewhere in between. My suggestion would be to take from all the communities and resources as they help you and hopefully give back too (ahem - I am working on it...)
