Yeah, I tend to agree with Keith about 90% here. I wouldnt call it horrible, but more "klunky" ;)
The concept/idea is very very solid and I think would run like wild fire if done right. The ability to have it SO customized is what I like about it over MySpace and other sites. The mods Idea is great too. But the team has been hard to get ahold of, and it took forever to become aproved to create mods. So with that feeling of disconnection (no body is home), I kinda forgot about it. It screams FLex2/as3 imho. On 12/28/06, Keith Peters <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I guess because nobody has done it yet, or at least not done it well. Wallop is an all Flash social networking site, but a horrible example. It would only serve as ammo against Flash, IMHO. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of phil dupre Sent: Thursday, December 28, 2006 1:15 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [osflash] Why Flash? The other day, I was talking about social networking sites with a friend, I defended Flash as the right solution claiming it has far more visual capabilities than a site operating on CSS or HTML, His question in response to my Flash bias left me stumped for an answer. He said, "Most successful sites are done with a mix of Flash and HTML such as YouTube, MySpace, etc. What successful networking sites have been produced all in Flash, if any?" I couldn't answer my friend's question, but from a historical standpoint, this is a valid question and would be interesting to discuss. Any answers out there? Thanks.
