Hi,

I am a Mac user, so I do no know much about Linux tools for writing
AS code, but you might be able to find a solution similar to this
kind of auto completing:
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7281

I use this with the TextWrangler text editor. This is not as good as
a "real" auto complete feature, but it helps me a lot as I write all
my AS code in TextWrangler, which has syntax highlighting but also
lacks auto completing.

Hope you can apply this hint to JEdit or any other text editor.
