I think that jEdit has a similar feature to the program you mentioned built in. After you type part of a word, you can hit Ctrl+B to bring up a menu which shows similar words in an autocomplete type fashion. I think it is only aware of key words in the file you have selected, but it is better than nothing I suppose.
