Hi Robert,
I would very much like see consolidation of Qt integration and done so
within the osgQt library.
Right now we have a number of different osgviewerQt examples that all
tackle integration at the viewer level in different ways, none of them
perfect. We need to sort this out and have just one general purpose
solution that works for all Qt usage models. I'm not a Qt expert so I
can't make this to happen under my own steam, it'll have to be the
community pulling together to refine things.
As you've seen, right now I'm focusing on integration the other way
around, putting Qt into an OSG scene. But I'll get to viewer-level
integration sometime, and I agree it will be interesting to consolidate
the osgViewerQt* examples. My hunch is that the osgViewerQtContext
example is the right way to go, with a dedicated GraphicsWindowQt class
that will result in a QGLWidget that renders through OSG. We'll see.
