Argg... ignore advice and you will go wrong. The osgdem source data you are passing to to osgdem has no geospatial coordinate itself, and you are not specifying any yourself as layed out in the osgdem tutorial that started you off on this road. So... the result like your source data is undefined. Please use data that has geospatial coords or add them via gdal command line tools, or via the --xx etc command line options.
