>From my last look at osgEphemeris it would need quite a bit of work to
get it in a state appropriate for integration with the core OSG. I
had originally hoped that osgEphemeris would slide right it to the
core OSG shortly after its release, but what I had hoped for was a
straght forward and self contained NodeKit didn't materialize.

Things that would need to happen before integration would be pulling
out of the C++ embedded imagery, removal of the helper apps to create
the said embedded imagery leaving a simple NodeKit. If users want to
have embedded imagery then this is something that should be contained
within plugins or passed in from users applications.

I would also like to have see support for geospatial datasets -
utilising the CoordinateSystemNode to help locate the eye point in the
lat/log/height, and have inbuilt support for going from space down to
ground level.

Any takers for taking on osgEphemeris to tackle the above and get in a
state ready for merging?

Robert.
