Hi Robert, I agree that the quad tree structure used by the VPB would eliminate my slow loading time issue. However, due to the nature of the data that my software is required to take as input, I chose not to use a quad tree structure. Doing so would have increased the complexity and decreased the performance of my scene generation software and due to the fact that my design works fine in ive format it was not necessary either.
I can go into greater detail if you like, but I don't see how my use of the API relates to whether my observation that the ive and osg plugins work differently is a bug or not. With that being said, I have to say that I was mildly offended by your description of my use of the API as perverse and improper in your responses to what started out as my attempt to be helpful. I don't think that the way I am building databases is perverse or improper, I'm just using the API in a way that apparently was not imagined when it was designed. All of my previous interactions with you and the others on this mailing list can only be described as pleasant and enlightening, but this time it sort of feels like I'm under attack. Thanks for your time.
