Hmm, on closer inspection, it doesn't actually work at all.
What is wrong with osg::Vec3 screen_coords = world_location * view *
proj * window ? Have I missed a step somewhere?
I understand what AutoTransform does, but I don't see how I can use
it for my problem. How can I use it to overlay an object in the 3D
main scene with a object in the 2D overlay?
you attach the AutoTransform to the same parent as your 3D model so they
are positioned on the same 3D spot. Then you attach e.g. a textured quad
(for icons e.g.) to the AutoTransform. If you want a constant size on
screen, call setAutoScaleToScreen(true) on the AutoTransform.
If this is still not exactly what you want, pls describe what you want
in more detail.
