No harm done, I didn't take it that way :) I am a Linux developer myself, but I found the advice to install a whole Linux machine to just convert some model files from VRML a bit ridiculous overkill. There are several people on this list that have successfully built the plugin on Windows and are using it. The plugin itself is a fairly small piece of code, if there are building issues then it is with dependencies - OpenVRML mainly (needs Boost, the Mozilla libraries, etc.).
