"normal vectors aren't causing culling"

I had a misunderstanding that a scene-graph
would do back-face culling by normal vectors.

OSG does NOT.  Neither does OpenGL.

So:
  geom->getOrCreateStateSet()->setMode( GL_CULL_FACE, osg::StateAttribute::ON );
  glEnable( GL_CULL_FACE );

GL_CULL_FACE does back-face culling by VERTEX ORDER (without normal vectors).

Sorry, nevermind.
