Hi Ting, The old osgterrain example was written for testing purposes of niche features rather than an educational example, so unfortunately isn't a great place to lean how to use osgterrain as it's way too complicated.
Both VirtualPlanetBuilder and osgEarth build osgTerrain based databases so these might be a good place to look for another reference on how to build osgTerrain databases. Robert.
