Well, they didn't have much choice there - there are no laws that forbid you with using your controller on another OS and since no copyright was broken, they couldn't use something like the American DMCA or similar to quash the efforts like they routinely do with the various "modchip" sellers/developers. I guess they realized they have no legal leg to stand on and backed down to save their face.
