std:string for one, that has been completely re-written, so if your passing strings around different versions this normally gets you in to trouble quite quick
there were many STL changes that are not binary compatible Lets not even go near the folks who might be using .Not err I mean .Net if your using an older C library you should be OK One of the things we have had to do for some things is basically wrapped some older C++ libs fully in a C wrappers, this gets you past some of the issues but not the STL ones. Here as sensor.com we been through this quite exhaustively and our experience is DON'T mix, if you have the source I HIGHLY recommend you rebuild in the same version your using.
