Hi Mathias,

As told earlier, I don't know what is *right*. But others can read them.
I also doubt that there is an official iso standard for RGB files, true?

Oh I can't comment on that, I all can rember is its was a kinda a
dafacto standard on sgi machines through the nineties when I was
coding in sgi's.

So, I can change the files in flightgear's cvs and convert them all.
But OTOH I believe that it is an additional value for osg to be able to read
files that are read correctly by others. That is the reason I posted that
patch to osg-submissions ...

It was right to post to osg-submissions. Applying a fix shouldn't be
too complicated once we've change the workaround to cope with
multi-byte colour encodings. As long as the fix doesn't risk
introducing a new bug then I'm happy.

As for the flightgear CVS repository I'd suggest waiting till we have
a fix in the OSG, test it against them and then fix files themselves,
I'm pretty sure that they are broken. The question is where might be
trace this problem back too. No others users have reported this as
problem with the .rgb plugin, so I don't think the source is common
one.

Robert.
