I believe this to be true because in the beginning of my involvement with people in conflict, the feeling in the room is usually one of anxiety, tension, and fear. These feelings don't evoke a sense of truth. As time passes, sometimes the feeling in the room changes to something closer to warmth, understanding, and perhaps even humor and joy. In these moments, the sense of conflict is gone, and I feel that we have all somehow experienced a glimmer of truth. In thinking about what this something is that feels like truth, I came across this idea from A Course In Miracles: "Healing is a thought by which two minds perceive their oneness and become glad." I think we experience truth when we recognize our connection with each other, and become glad. Perhaps healing is what happens in the wake of recognizing the truth of our connection with each other. Maybe that is the only truth that matters.
