I just want to echo the thoughts of the poster above. It seems puzzling that such a useful feature is no longer available. I love OSMand and use it a *lot*, but almost never use the routing functionality - I usually prefer sniffing out a route as i go along. The new version 2.3.5 has a lot of nice features and looks pretty, but i had to unfortunately dial back down to 2.2.4 just because of that suddenly missing ability to be able to specify a point as the destination without getting the routing algorithms involved.
