I use Osmand the same as original poster. I used to set the destination flag for hotel/ train station / prkinglot and find my way around a town or forest. With all the hiking and biking functualities in Osmand this was great, but the program has slowly become just another car-navigation tool. The destination marker does not have a "sure you want to remove" dialogue anymore, now the pointer has disappeared. Not happy anymore.
