Thanks for your help. Kind of stuck with 5.1 on this device. Verizon rarely updates the OS. Have not had good luck rooting on previous phones.
I can't access the osmand file structure when not on SD card. Adb is a possibility, but a bit of a pain. I update custom map files frequently using Dropbox. Wish OsmAnd would copy it's entire file tree when changing data storage folder as the edit command seems to imply it will.
