Obviously, developer's attitude is very strange. It may be hard to code 
some features that require additional logic, calculations, drawing etc. But 
adding configuration settings instead of hardcoded values/modes is easy for 
any programming language. So OsmAnd could be much more flexible with no 
significant work.

I could perform some improvement myself but I never tried Android and/or 
Java development, having experience in C++/C/Asm only, mainly under 
Windows. I could pay a reasonable amount to support such improvements but I 
cannot understand developers' attitude.
