I can see one advantage of having a choice (!) of using the smaller Regierungsbezirke instead of having to store the complete State-map: significant less memory usage on the Smartphone! iPhone Users, who cannot easily just buy a bigger external SD card, might love this - if they need to use OSMand for their specific geographic area only. :)
One word to (hypothetic! - so no offense!) complaints about a potential impact on the free edition: I love this app and I use to recommend the free edition a lot. I've done screencasts how-to install it and which basic settings are important, how-to use it for tracking and how-to draw own gpx tracks (all in the Mantrailing Search & Rescue Dogs context) and what I always emphasize: I'd be happy if everybody would buy the plus edition. :) It would honour the developers' work and costs and motivate to continue developing & bugfixing. If anybody thinks the app is not useful and versatile enough to equal the value of ONE Bic Mac and ONE Coke (once in a lifetime), shouldn't use it at all or at least not complain about a free (just slightly limitted in regards of number of installable maps) edition without annoying ads, nag screens or sth else. :) Disclaimer: I am neither part of the developer team nor do I know an OSMand developer personally. ;) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
