Hi The suggested route is close, no  dobut about that. When trying to get 
used to Osmand I have taken with me what I have learnt from using Basecamp, 
and before that Mapsource, for many years. My experience from Garmin is 
that any setting, avoidance or whatever, increases the risk for something 
going wrong. I alwas use the car drving mode as default, event though I'm a 
motorcylist. Then I use shaping points to get the route I want.

And that is my main consern with Osmand. I really miss an opportunity to 
plan a route in advance, on my computer, with a descent screen size.

But, your solution is worht trying out. Thanks.
