Paul, here is a link to the ATOTO web site that gives some dimensions for
the unit:

If your faceplate really is only 1.5U it probably won't work. You need a
full 2DIN opening for this unit. My truck had a 2DIN faceplate but the
internal (guts) of the unit was only 1DIN. I had to remove some sheetmetal
under the dash to get this unit in. But I knew that ahead of time based on
reports by others. The modification that I had to make does not cause any
structural integrity issues and does not prevent reinstalling the old unit
if I want to.

In my 2014 RAM 2500 the display is perfectly positioned, it does not block
the heat/AC vents and it does not interfere with my manual stick shift.
The screen does not have a polarized filter so polarized sunglasses do not
block the display (at least I have not had any issues with that). I also
like that it has a physical volume knob. In fact, it was one of my "must
have" requirements - I hate fiddling with on-screen controls when I need to
quickly increase or decrease the volume.
