I can think of about two people who probably held fundamentalist beliefs and voted that way who weren't assholes. Neither were 'in your face' about their beliefs and both had been raised in very fundamentalist households. In fact both were so low key about their religion that I had to know them for a long time before I suspected they were fundies. Fundamentalism is a choice and it's the kind of choice that an asshole would make. If I lived in the deep south I would expect a larger proportion of people who were fundamentalist simply because of family background. Maybe that's the way it is in Australia. Of the few non-asshole fundies I know, one is from Australia. -- The folly of mistaking a paradox for a discovery, a metaphor for a proof, a torrent of verbiage for a spring of capital truths, and oneself for an oracle, is inborn in us. -Paul Valery, poet and philosopher (1871-1945) _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
