I believe Ron is talking about it being legal to treat the patient and Redge is talking about reimbursement. i.e. OT may be allowed to treat, in a school system without an MD order, or in a case like Ron is interested in Occupational Lifestyle type issues for payment by the client directly. But what the PTs are after is billing Medicare and other third parties without MD order. Right?

Hello Redge:
The two states I have practiced in, S. Carolina and Florida, already
have direct access for OT. I've always been under the impression that
with regards to direct access, PT is chasing OT because most states
already have direct access for OT.
