Sandi and others,

Please let me clarify something. I frequently am confused with Reggie
Campbell from Texas. While we share name similarities she and I are not
the same. I'm just a rehab director up in the Northwest corner. To
paraphrase a great orator. I've met Reggie Campbell. I am no Reggie
Campbell.

To that end, I'm not aware of any action or position taken on this
initiative by AOTA. I am not typically someone who attempts to agitate
on a subject but would sure like some discussion on whether I am
fabricating scenarios that aren't likely to occur.

As for the direct access initiative being promoted by the physical
therapists, I am very much on board with the obvious common sense of
this. I just fear that if OT does not have similar access there will be
too much imbalance in the process of referring to OT as compared to PT
which could result in loss of access to OT and increased scope by PTs to
fill the gap.

Thank you, Reggie. I was hoping that someone was acting on this at
the
national level, but I have heard nothing from AOTA on this issue. Is
anyone
from AOTA reading Reggie's letter? What can therapists in the field do
to
fight this legislation?
