Although many hospitals in the US have brachial plexus programs - including ours here
at Charlotte Institute of Rehab in North Carolina - most do not do the surgery that is
sometimes required. The following hospital has an excellent reputation as having
comprehensive approach to brachial plexus palsy and is recommended by our pediatric
physiatrist.
TEXAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, Houston, Texas
The Brachial Plexus Program

I am wondering if any body will suggest me about the best centre to refer this baby
suffered from Brachial Palsy
I have been treating a 3yrs and 6 month female baby suffered from brachial palsy since
last one year.
since last 3 months i am finding no improvement in her functional ability specially
reach over shoulder. Her present situation can be visualized as follows(by means of
active ranges in degrees)
shoulder. F/A .
Flex. - 95 She can do full pronation from mid prone
....... Abd - 80 position .while supination is nill.
Ext. - nill
E.Rot.-05 wrist
i. Rot.-05 she can move her wrist till neutral from fully flexed position against
gravity.
wrist flexers good .
elbow.-
Flex.->Ext.- 145 -> 15
hand function wise she has good grasps [spherical cylindrical and& hook] prehentions
are comparatively weaker and less co ordinated.
i will be wondering if some body will refer us one of the best centre /
hospital/organization {with name and address. so that we can contact them.} which can
improve her functional abilities even at the cost of any precious reconstructive
surgical procedures.
Although we have fond a sponsor to finance the cost of treatment but it will be
convenient to us if the particular hospital or organization will suggest us the cost
of the procedure/s.
The priority of parents is to improve the shoulder range as well as to improve the
hand function.
It will be great favor to us if you suggest one of the best centerer
/hospital/organization 's in the following countries because the parents are little
scared of surgery and feel these places are good. their priority are...
1* Canada
2* U.S.A.
3* ENGLAND&
4*GERMANY
But let me be clear we need the best place where the success rate will be maximum. I
can convince the parent for any place .
Don't hesitate to suggest us . No body is going to be blamed if the attempt to improve
the function is not done.we need the best performers only . success is in the hand of
god.
If any further details needed from our side let us know it would be our pleasure to
pass it to you.
Thanking you all for hearing us with so much patiently.
