It seems that at the core of it - you are speaking about deconstructing cognitive
processes, and then re-presenting then to the client in a manner in which they are
able to identify the incremental thought components which eventually lead to effective
action - a cogntive -rehab. approach...??? Maybe that's where to go in terms of
searching the literature. Cog.rehab . has certainly been used as a basis of
psychosocial interventions

Subject: Re: [OTnow] Problem Solving Group

  Hi Ron:

I would like to look at developing some level of anticipatory problem-solving
skills through the problem-solving group. What I am basically looking for is
any model or reference that outlines or gives a clear understanding of the
principles and/or process that underlie problem-solving in day-to-day living.
Presently problem-solving interventions with this client population often focus
on particular issues e.g. what is involved in shopping at a grocery store.
However, it does not take into consideration how the client could get ready
while standing in the check-out line to pay for the items (s)he has bought. I
am hoping that I will find some underlying principles or a model which would
help me impart the learning of such principles or process at a general level.

  Hope this answers your question.

  Take care,

  Biraj
