As for my experience - I can search tickets by freetext field, but
searching tickets by they number give me no results. Very strange...

I have been running some version of OTRS 3 from beta up until 3.0.3.
I'm not sure when this search (for ticket number) stopped working, but I
have the same experience as Gazizov.
For what it's worth, we've been using the Static DB all along.
