Hi all,
I have a problem with the MacOS 9 machines in my house (namely my wallstreet and my dad's g3) where in macos 9, everytime the machine starts up (exception is with extensions off) once the desktop appears its atlest 2-5 minutes before the machine is usable, and honestly- i can't wait that long.

I noticed before, when i my powerbook would automatically mount my centris' harddrives over appletalk this wouldn't happen, but when the machine was off (or i wasn't on the local network) this would happen.

However, i've tried deleting all the settings related to appletalk and filesharing on both the g3 and the wallstreet, and the most i got was 1 restart without problems, after that it came back again.
I'm pretty sure its not an extention conflict, unless its one of the default apple extentions, and on the wallstreet, even with AppleTalk and filesharing off, it still happens.

Any ideas?

Eric
I guess you've tried turning off all the extensions that you don't need?
Try trashing the AppleSharePrep extension (I think, mostly working in X now) which may still be looking for the harddrives
Clean reinstall of the OS? Only takes 15-20 minutes
Chris
