Just trash the lot of them every now and again for at least some improvement.
You got it. Each Server in that folder is searched for on the network and the timeout time is at least 2 minutes- can't remember exactly and I don't know where this setting is buried (probably embedded into a Preference file or a STR resource in the Finder for all you ResEdit fans). Fills up for some weird reason? Computers don't do this stuff because they feel like it :) it's because people click the "Connect Automatically at Startup" checkbox when they are logging in to their other computer. Don't tick it- just use the alias for the mounted volume in your "Recent Servers" folder in the Apple Menu... and when you know you're physically connected, open the alias just like any directory- then you will connect as per normal. -- Outback Mac is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Outback Mac list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/obmac.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/outback.mac%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
