Hi all,
I have a problem with the MacOS 9 machines in my house (namely my wallstreet and my dad's g3) where in macos 9, everytime the machine starts up (exception is with extensions off) once the desktop appears its atlest 2-5 minutes before the machine is usable, and honestly- i can't wait that long.
Try looking in the System Folder for a folder names 'Servers' - I've found that it tends to fill up with aliases to your commonly used servers for some weird reason, and they can *really* slow down the startup as you've described. Just trash the lot of them every now and again for at least some improvement.
