Matthias, do you have these problems with the main archive's owserver,
too? Because I have a mixed setup with a PC running owlib based Tcl
language binding to a Raspberry Pi running owserver. And I haven't
noticed any problems.

This isn't to say there are no problems but to locate where the problem
may be.

In my recent efforts to get "external" bugfixed, I encountered such a
hanging problem within the thread locking mechanism. I found out it
hasn't anything to do with that mechanism being broken but instead, with
another piece of code I'd broken throughout my experiments accidentally.

If this is connected to thread locking, I can think about why tracing
the program "fixes" it.
